West Cork LCDC congratulate Sandra Schmid on the official opening of her new facilities at the Hairy Henry Therapeutic Riding centre which took place last Friday, 26th August. LEADER funding of €49k went towards the restoration of two buildings, wheelchair toilet & accessible classroom with the total project costing €97k.

Based in Ballylickey Bantry the facility has been in operation since 2013 and is named after her horse Hairy Henry which she has had with 18 years. Sandra is a Horse Boy Practitioner and offers tailormade Horse Boy sessions, this method is an effective process to address a combination of difficulties in the areas such as behaviour, education, stress management, emotional regulation, communication & relationship building – as often experienced by persons with ASD, ADHA, Anxiety disorder, Sensory Integration disorder.
