Targeted Call for: 1. Rural Tourism and 2. Basic Services

1.Rural Tourism: Communities in West Cork Zone 3 are invited to apply for funding to support Community-led Tourism Events & Festivals.

Priority will be given to:

  • Funding equipment that can be used annually for festivals and events
  • Projects that involve a number of user groups
  • Projects that have the ability to attract ‘additional’ visitors to the area and are supported by the local tourism sector
  • ‘New’ partnerships between events in a town/catchment
  • Projects that will be developed and completed by the end of 2017

Applicants will need to outline their plan of use and storage for equipment as part of their full application.

Grant range is expected to be between €10,000 and a maximum of €20,000* per project with up to €144,000 LEADER Funding being allocated to this defined call. Circa 10 projects are expected to be supported.

*Higher levels of allocation may be considered in exceptional circumstances or in the event of additional funds being made available to the South Cork LAG.

Application Steps:

  • The Closing Date for submitting an EOI (Expression of Interest) for this Rural Tourism targeted call is 15th January, 2017.
  • You will be notified if your EOI has been deemed ‘Eligible’ to progress to a full application no later than the end of the first week of February 2017.
  • If you are deemed eligible at the EOI Stage, a full application (including business plan, financial accounts, relevant permissions, procurement details, etc.) will need to be submitted.
  • Any EOI or application received after the closing date cannot be processed as part of this targeted call.

2.Basic Services:  Communities in the West Cork- Zone 3 are invited to apply for funding under the Basic Services sub theme.

Priority will be given to projects that improve community facilities, activities and amenities including:

  • Community space/buildings
  • Outdoor recreation
  • Community based ICT facilities
  • Physical activity/community health (excluding mainstream sporting activities)
  • Social/community enterprise

Projects should benefit a broad range of community interests and promote social inclusion.

Priority will be given to projects that will be developed and completed by the end of 2017.

Grant range is expected to be between €20,000 and a maximum of €40,000* per project with up to €376,879 LEADER Funding being allocated to this defined call.  Circa 15 projects are expected to be supported.

*Higher levels of allocation may be considered in exceptional circumstances or in the event of additional funds being made available to the South Cork LAG.
